Whiz Kid: David Dean Bragg

Bragg was chosen out of all second graders who submitted an essay for the Bethesda Literary Festival writing contest.

Every week, Kensington Patch will feature a local kid who has done something remarkable, whether at school, church or in the neighborhood. We want to hear about these amazing children and teens, and we will select one each week as the Kensington Patch Whiz Kid. This week's Whiz Kid is a student at KP Elementary.

  • Whiz Kid David Dean Bragg, 8, 2nd Grade
  • Accomplishment: Bragg is a winner of the Bethesda Literary Festival writing contest.
  • Key to Awesomeness: David Dean Bragg is a winner of the Bethesda Literary Festival writing contest. Bragg's essay about nature as "The Most Beautiful Place in the World" was selected out of all second graders who submitted essays. 450 essays were submitted from students in Kindergarten through eighth grade, and 10 winners were selected. Bragg will read his essay at a reception at the Doubletree Bethesda hotel in front of his family, his teacher Miss Marshall and the Bethesda Literary Festival committee on Saturday, April 16, at 10 a.m. To read his essay, select the PDF file in the photo gallery.
