Weekend Closures, Hurricane Sandy Push Metro Ridership Down

Revenue was down $20.3 million, the transit agency reported.

Just about everyone is using Metro less than they did last year, according to a performance review released by the transit agency Monday, WAMU 88.5 reported

Revenue was down $20.3 million for fiscal 2013, The Washington Post reported, in part due to the two days that Metro closed for Hurricane Sandy and federal workers being off for Christmas Eve.

Weekend ridership was down 12 percent this June when compared to last June, WAMU reported. Less people are parking at Metro stations and less people with disabilities are taking MetroAccess, also, The Post reported.
