Chevy Chase Fountain Silenced During Shutdown

The fountain at Chevy Chase Circle, a National Park Service property, is not operating.

While the federal government remains shut down, national parks do not operate.

That includes the little park at Chevy Chase Circle, most notable for its large, circular fountain, which has been off this week. The park inside the circle is owned by the National Park Service (the website for which is not operating during the federal shutdown).

When Patch stopped by the circle on Thursday morning, there was water in the fountain, but the fountain appeared to have been turned off.
