Last week, I made a stop at the Chevy Chase Supermarket for a few things: bread, milk, yogurt and more Vitamin C. I quickly spread them on the moving counter top, slid my credit card and was ready-to-bolt when the cashier called out, "you won."

"What?"

"Madam, you won." She held out my receipt tape and pointed to the letters, "you won a snow shovel."

Who knew?

This was my lucky day.

Unable to resist my urge to share the good news, I asked my son to take this photo with my iPhone and I posted onto Facebook.

A friend in Phoenix sent a quick response, "now you need a snow shovel-er."

Too true! Hoping the snow will hold off.
