A developer has revealed renderings of a planned townhome community on the former Betco site near Little Falls Parkway, Bethesda Now reports.

Bethesda-based EYA described the vision for a 30-townhome development, dubbed "Little Falls Place," in a Thursday news release. 

EYA calls the community "modern" and "urban" with "walls of glass to capture the scenic views of the parkland and Capital Crescent Trail."

Little Falls Place will include "expansive outdoor spaces" complete with rear yards, balconies, and rooftop terraces with outdoor kitchens and fireplaces, according to the statement.

Twenty-five of the units will be "luxury townhomes" with two-car garages, along with five moderately-priced units with one-car garages.

“What we’ve envisioned for Little Falls Place is a rare blend of vibrant city living in a peaceful, relaxing setting," said Bob Youngentob, EYA president and co-founder. "There aren’t many places in Washington where you can achieve this level of access to world class shopping and dining, yet enjoy acres of nature preserves and onsite trail access."

Developers have successfully sought to re-zone the 1.81-acre site, a former cinder block plant, for residential use. A hearing examiner supported the re-zoning, saying the residential rather than industrial use will benefit nearby parkland and waterways.

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission agreed to allow the developers an easement to access to the site over parkland, so residents can access Little Falls Parkway.
