The Gift of Song is Perfect for Mother’s Day

If you've always wanted to sing to your baby, but have a not-so-great voice, have local musicians Cathy & Marcy do it for you.

If you’re looking for a unique and heartfelt gift for that special mother of young children, this is it. Kensington residents, Grammy Award winners, and entertainers extraordinaire, Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer, have just released their newest CD and playbook, “Sing to Your Baby.”

Regardless of singing talent—babies don’t know or care if you can’t carry a tune—a parent’s voice is a powerful tool in creating that special bond with a child. "Sing to Your Baby," gives both moms and dads the opportunity to play, hold, rock, soothe and love their baby in a collection of 22 songs that can even be personalized for that ultimate bonding experience. Those silly, poignant or personal songs that parents sing to their infants and toddlers often provide comfort and fond memories for a child’s entire life.

According to Fink, who has performed thousands of family concerts over more than 25 years, "parents always say, ‘I wish I could have sung to my baby, but...’ - and for one reason or another they didn't. Your baby thinks you are a rock star and so do we, so we’ve made it easy to sing along with mom or dad tracks to help you bond with your baby through the joy of music.”
