The food is certainly not what it used to be. The chocken on a stick was gummy and very salty and tasted like leftoer reheated chicken. I was quite disappointed. We got hot dogs at the BBQ place near the entrance. Hot dogs were good, buns seemed stale. My favorite place is the cheese place, I had the best soft warm pretzel with some warm jalapeno cheese sauce to dip it in. I didnt get to have my favorite grilled cheese but if I can scrape up a few extra bucks, we'll hit the fair again before it leaves!

I went last light. It was fun, but I have to say that my milkshake looked and tasted a lot more like a giant cup of soft serve...

You were lucky to get a milkshake. The place that had them, their fridge or something had broken down when we went on Sunday. I do regret not getting a chance to try the cheese cake on a stick, lol.

The good food is at the other end of the fair, not in the carnival section. Get a grilled cheese from the Big Cheese, a root beer float from the Dairy Bar, a piece of cake outside the 4H building, or BBQ beef from the booth across from Old MacDonald's barn!

We just wrapped up. Let's just say I don't feel too hot. My favorite item was the bbq pulled pork sandwich from Branded '72.

Greg - you were a trooper...! At least you didn't have to encounter the fried butter sticks I hear they do at state or county fairs in the Midwest.
