Kensington Home Damaged in Fire

A kitchen and dining room fire caused substantial house damage to a home on Decatur Avenue.

The kitchen and dining room caught fire in a small two-bedroom house near the 4000 block of Decatur Avenue Friday evening, according to Chief James Stanton of the Kensington Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters put out the fire at around 7:47 p.m. Friday, but the house had substantial damage, according to Stanton.

Stanton had no injuries to report and said no one was at home at the time of the fire. The Montgomery County Fire Marshall's office is investigating the cause of the fire.
