Kensington Celebrates Third Thursday
Businesses stay open late for the town's monthly event.
Tonight, Kensington will again celebrate Third Thursday, with Old Town businesses staying open to offer deals and host events.
From 5 to 8 p.m., you can duel with a chessmaster, save money on dinner, hear live poetry and score a free cupcake. Here are a few of the deals and events available:
- Kensington Row Bookshop is hosting chess master Allan Savage, who will battle multiple opponents at the same time. Feel free to drop in any time between 5 and 8 p.m. to play a game against Savage.
- Two Pears Cafe will host an open-mic night from 6 to 8 p.m., inviting one and all to take the stage and show off their talents.
- Itsy Bitsy Bakery is offering a free cupcake with each $5 purchase.
- Frankly ... Pizza will be on hand, serving fresh-baked pizza on the street.
Other restaurants and shops are also offering deals tonight, and you can learn more about the event on its Facebook page.

Cold outside, but warm inside Two Pears and book store. Treated to poetry by Richard Rice and music at Two Pears.

Correction to the article. Itsy Bitsy bakery has been out of business, sadly for
the last three weeks. We need to have more small shops that provide great
services as they did and Two Pears and the Bistro still do!
