Friday, April 15: The Chesapeake Framing Company is having a Spring Sidewalk Sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Get 25 percent off custom framing or purchase some new artwork for your home.
Friday, April 15: Head to the AFI in Silver Spring to view a movie as part of Silver Babies. Moms, dads or caretakers are invited to a matinee screening, where it's OK to bring the kids along. The lights remain dimly lit and the volume of the movie remains at a comfortable level. This week catch "Jane Eyre" or "Win Win."
Saturday, April 16: Starting at 10 a.m. head to Veteran's Plaza in downtown Silver Spring for Rock-N-Romp KidsFest. Sponsored by the School of Rock, this rock concert is just for kids (and the family too).
Saturday, April 16: The Lions Roar 5K and 1K Fun Run brings students, faculty, staff, alumni, parishioners, and friends of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School together to raise money for a new library for the school. After the race, a family festival will be held on the school grounds.
Sunday, April 17: The Day of the Book is finally here. Head to Antique Row to meet and greet local authors, get a book appraised, enjoy live music and fun for the entire family. The festival is free and open to the public and goes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Kensington Patch will have a booth set up, so stop by and say "hello."
Sunday, April 17: Brookside Gardens will hold its Earth Day Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Give back to to community by volunteering on a garden project then take a plant or wildlife walk and enjoy the Brookside Gardens.
