Garrett Park Mayor Responds to Obama Plan to Prevent Gun Violence

"Our objective must not be meeting violence with violence; It must be preventing violence in the first place," said Mayor Peter Benjamin in a statement.

Peter Benjamin, the mayor of Garrett Park, issued a statement Wednesday along with mayors across the country in response to President Barack Obama's plan to prevent gun violence. Benjamin is a member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

Here is his statement:

"As mayor of the Town of Garrett Park, MD, I urge our Maryland Senators Mikulski and Cardin and our Representative Van Hollen to support the President’s comprehensive plan to prevent gun violence and to take all appropriate actions to convince their fellow Congressional leaders to vote to protect not only our children but all people in our country from the scourge of death and injury created by persons wielding guns. Our objective must not be meeting violence with violence; it must be preventing violence in the first place."

What a crock. This Mayer and the others mentioned are great
examples of wasted human flesh. These four are part of the problem not the solution. As part of control let's fire this bunch and get someone with some back bone and entegerity not BS and lies.

The BS here Joe, is that the Gun Lobby's solution of putting more guns in every school serves to purposes. It sells more guns for gun manufacturers and it acclimatizes young children to the idea that guns should be everywhere. Soon the Gun Lobby will be suggesting we have guns in Libraries and grocery stores. If we follow these ideas we will certainly be moving in the wrong direction. The Backbone my friend is in STANDING UP against more violent solutions and more guns everywhere mentality!
