It's that time of the year again, when fashionistas all over the world don fabulous frocks, suave suits and shiny shoes to hit the hippest fashion spots for Fashion's Night Out, which takes place this year on Thursday, Sept. 6.

"Last year's bash featured events in [18] countries and more than 4,500 events [in the U.S.]. With special limited-edition products, celebrity appearances, and unforgettable performances, FNO 2012 is promising to be even bigger and better than before," according to the event's website.

Fashion's Night Out takes place around the world, but you don't need to jet off to London or Milan to participate. There's a slew of participating businesses in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area, and even more in Georgetown.

Here's what's happening in your neck of the woods, according to the event's website:

BCBG (5402 Wisconsin Ave., Suite B, Chevy Chase, MD, and 7101 Democracy Blvd., Suite 2040, Bethesda, MD): 6 to 8 p.m. Post a photo of yourself in BCBG garb on Instagram (#BCBGFNO) for a chance to win $1,000 to spend at the store.

bebe (7101 Democracy Blvd., No. 1232, Bethesda, MD): 6 to 10 p.m. Special offers, snacks, drinks, music and an exclusive gift with a $100 purchase.

Cache (7101 Democracy Blvd., No. 2400, Bethesda, MD): 6 to 9 p.m. An "exciting incentive" will be available for shopping for full-price merchandise, according to Fashion's Night Out's website.

Coldwater Creek (White Flint Mall, 11301 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda, MD): 6 to 11 p.m. Hourly drawings for fashion pieces, mystery offers for everyone and refreshments.

Eileen Fisher (7101 Democracy Blvd., Suite 2420, Bethesda, MD): 6 to 11 p.m. Light refreshments will be available.

Guess (7101 Democracy Blvd., No 1310, Bethesda, MD): 6 to 9 p.m. Listen to the disc jockey; receive a gift with certain purchases. 

Madewell (7101 Democracy Blvd., No. 2036, Bethesda, MD): 6 to 9 p.m. Drinks, sweet treats and hair braiding at the Braid Bar. 

Neiman Marcus (Mazza Gallerie, 5300 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington, DC): 

• Runway presentation (7 to 7:30 p.m.): Featuring fall fashion trends—shades of green and navy, leather, digital prints and more.
• Tom Ford lipstick bar (6 to 9 p.m.): A photo booth will let you share your new look on Facebook and Twitter.
• Lafayette 148 New York special presentation (7:30 to 8:30 p.m.): Get a limited edition gift with qualifying purchases.
