Cedar Lane Bridge Back Open

The bridge, closed since June, is finished three weeks ahead of schedule.

A popular shortcut for Kensington drivers heading to Bethesda is back open.

Construction on the Cedar Lane bridge wrapped up ahead of schedule on Friday, according to Montgomery County, and that opens up another vein for cross-creek traffic.

The county closed the bridge in order to repair outdated concrete beams and piers in anticipation of increased traffic due to the Base Realignment and Closure Act's effects on the National Naval Medical Center.
